Kortex started with a frustration that anyone who lives inside NotebookLM will recognize. You spend an hour in a great research session, surface three genuinely useful insights, and then close the tab. The chat is gone. The sources are locked behind a read-only pane. Your best prompt is something you'll retype from memory tomorrow, slightly worse.
Every notebook was an island. Nothing carried forward, nothing compounded, and the tool that was supposed to build your knowledge base quietly reset it every time you started something new.
So we built the missing half. Kortex is a browser extension that layers export, organization, and memory onto NotebookLM, without asking you to leave it. Export sources to PDF, Markdown, Text, or ZIP. Save and reuse your best prompts. Organize notebooks with nested folders and tags. Highlight and annotate sources. Sync to Google Docs in a single click. The work you do stays yours, in a format you can actually take with you.
Today Kortex is used by researchers, students, writers, and analysts across Chrome, Edge, and Brave. We ship updates constantly, and most of them start as a message from someone who hit a wall and told us about it.

We don't store your conversations or the contents of your sources. Chat transfers are processed in memory and go straight from your browser to your own NotebookLM account. We keep the organizational layer you create so it syncs across devices, and nothing more.
A knowledge tool you can't export from isn't a knowledge tool, it's a trap. Everything you build in Kortex comes out in open formats, whenever you want it, including the prompts and views you've saved.
Our roadmap is public and our users vote on it. If you hit a wall, tell us, there's a good chance the fix ships that week rather than that quarter.
Kortex is a small independent project, not a venture-backed roadmap decided by people who have never opened NotebookLM. There's no support queue you disappear into.
